Utah deputy shot, killed; suspect sought

FILLMORE, Utah (AP) — Authorities in Utah say a county sheriff’s deputy has been shot and killed and statewide search for a suspect is under way.

A department spokesman says the Millard County deputy was gunned down around 1 a.m. Tuesday during a traffic stop near the Delta. He was found by another officer who arrived on the scene.

The officer’s name was not immediately released.

Authorities say they are looking for 37-year-old Roberto Miramontes Roman, who is described as 5-foot-7, 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
