BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Department of Fish and Game says a helicopter carrying two research biologists and a pilot has crashed in northern Idaho.

The agency says the biologists and pilot did not suffer life-threatening injuries during the crash around noon Friday. The biologists were putting radio collars on elk, moose and wolves about 300 miles north of Boise.

The department says it is suspending all flights until next week to review safety procedures. State Fish and Game biologists fly about 1,000 hours each year to conduct aerial surveys, wildlife counts and capture wildlife for research.

The helicopter crash follows one in California’s Sierra National Forest on Tuesday that killed three California Department of Fish and Game biologists and a pilot.
