TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran’s state-run Press TV is reporting that a Tehran University professor has been killed in a bomb attack.

The report says Massoud Mohammadi was killed Tuesday by a remote-controlled bomb attached to a motorcycle parked outside his home in the north of the capital.

Tehran University was one of several campuses around the country where students held anti-government protests last month to press their opposition to the clerical leadership and their claims that June’s presidential election was rigged.

The Press TV report described Mohammadi was “a staunch supporter” of the 1979 revolution that toppled the shah and brought Islamic clerics to power.
