Euro Slides to 7-Month Low on Greek Worries

The euro tumbled to seven-month lows below $1.38 on Thursday as European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet was unable to allay festering concerns over Greek sovereign debt, which investors worry could infect other euro-zone economies.

The euro dropped after Mr. Trichet’s question-and-answer session with journalists after the ECB announced its key rates would remain unchanged. The common currency traded at levels not seen since June 2009.
