The euro struggled to stay above $1.36 as renewed concerns over Greece’s debt problems prompted investors to seek the perceived safety of the yen and the dollar.
The weakness in the common currency came after a German Finance Ministry spokesman said no decision has been made regarding aid for fiscally stressed Greece.
