Alex Pappas spent some time with Freedom Works’ Dick Armey today:
I just got back from the National Press Club where former Republican House leader Dick Armey mostly talked about the Tea Party movement and their efforts to take down President Obama’s health-care bill — but he still had time to slip in a few funny lines.
At the conclusion of his remarks, the former Republican majority leader from Texas was given what the event’s moderator called “the coveted” National Press Club coffee mug. Armey, though, made it clear that he doesn’t plan to keep the memento in one piece for very long.
“These things are great for target practice,” Armey said to loud applause after acknowledging that he would probably get in trouble with his press secretary for admitting that.
