SPOKANE, Wash. — Draymond Green dribbled upcourt, with Michigan State down a point, and that pretty much summed up the day. A sure MSU win had fallen apart so completely that you almost could see pieces of it on the floor. So of course it came down to a thick forward playing point guard. That’s how you dot the “i” and cross the “t” on “disaster.”
Green was about to take the shot, but out of the corner of his ear, he heard Korie Lucious screaming: “Day-Day! Day-Day!”
Green passed to Lucious. Green has done everything for the Spartans this season, come off the bench, rebound, score, defend, lead his older teammates, now play emergency point guard, and suddenly he had one chore left: Pray.
