Health-care bill will make drive-through menus impossible to read

“A requirement tucked into the nation’s massive health care bill will make calorie counts impossible for thousands of restaurants to hide and difficult for consumers to ignore. More than 200,000 fast food and other chain restaurants will have to include calorie counts on menus, menu boards and even drive-throughs,” writes the AP.

Restaurants with 20 or more locations will have to comply with the new law, under the guidance and direction of the notoriously understanding FDA. And thus, what started under FDR as, “Let Unca Sam pay for your health care, really!” has turned into, “You’re eating what? Cheddar-jalapeno poppers and Bronco Berry dipping sauce? GET THAT OUT OF YOUR MOUTH!” Because this is what happens when Congress passes legislation that reduces the combined works of Marcel Proust and David Foster Wallace to breezy summer reading: The menu at Arby’s becomes a lecture and nothing is fun anymore.
