The existence of Bergen County’s “blue laws” was seriously threatened last week when Governor Christie announced his plan to eliminate the ban on Sunday shopping in order to fill a $65 million gap in his proposed state budget.
County and state officials gathered in Maywood on March 17 to denounce the plan to end the 51-year-old laws in favor of generating more revenue.
