Republican Jay Townsend accused Sen. Charles Schumer of selling out New York for the “Obama-Pelosi-Schumer agenda” — a charge the Democrat called “fantasyland” — as the rivals clashed last night in their only debate.
The little-known Townsend, a GOP political consultant who’s up against massive deficits in the polls, spent much of the showdown at Marist College in Poughkeepsie attacking Schumer over President Obama’s stimulus bill, health-care overhaul and Wall Street regulations.
