Singer Lady Gaga, arguably more famous for her outrageous outfits than her musical talent, has snagged her very own fashion and art column for V magazine, reports Women’s Wear Daily.

The Grammy award-winning singer announced via Twitter on Wednesday that she’d delve into magazine writing, “I begin next month as a Fashion+Art Columnist for @VMagazine. + I’ll be resurrecting “TRANSMISSION GAGAVISION” episodes starting next week!”

An hour earlier, she prepped fans with a teaser tweet, “I have some exciting news little monsters, gonna post in 35 minutes! I have lots of little presents planned for you!”

V magazine, which launched in 1999, is described as a “younger sibling” spin-off to fashion publication Visionaire. Gaga’s first article will appear in the summer issue, which hits newsstands May 12. But the “Monster” pop sensation is not acting alone in this writing endeavor, as she’s calling on fans to come up with artwork that will be published alongside her stories.

As the Huffington Post pointed out, Gaga is not new to V magazine, which used her as its cover girl for the Fall 2009 issue. For the publication’s Fall 2010 edition, Gaga once again graced the front cover, this time dressed as Lady Liberty alongside designer Marc Jacobs.

Though a best selling artist, the “Just Dance” songbird has been the subject of major media criticism this year, most recently for her hit single “Born This Way”, which some argue is a rip-off of Madonna’s “Express Yourself”. Gaga also puzzled many when she showed up to the 2011 Grammy’s ceremony in an egg. In February, the entertainer sported a condom-inspired suit to “Good Morning America” to promote an HIV/AIDS Awareness campaign.

Gaga is one of many celebrities to dabble into journalism. “It’s Complicated” actress, Rita Wilson had a long-running column with swanky fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar. In 2005, “I Am Sam” actor and Haiti relief activist, Sean Penn covered the Iran elections for the San Francisco Chronicle. Earlier this month, comedienne Kathy Griffin interned at Gawker, where she produced slideshows and blog posts.
