Arizona girl Meghan McCain got half-naked for a new Style Network skin cancer prevention ad, which features several celebrities alongside the Daily Beast columnist.

“My mother would be so ashamed,” a bare-shouldered McCain says, referring to how mom Cindy would react if she knew her daughter didn’t lather on sunscreen before stepping out into the sun.

Late last year, Meghan McCain prepared the world for this PSA with her tweet, “Well, I’ve never been half naked on the roof of a building in front of a group of strangers b4, give it up to the girls who took it all off.”

Having grown up in the Phoenix area, it’s no secret to McCain that the sun can be harmful. Her father, Sen. John McCain has fought melanoma, a dangerous and potentially fatal form of skin cancer.

The 26-year-old woman joins pop singer Brandy, former “Boy Meets World” actress Danielle Fishel, television personality Ashlan Gorse, television host Tempestt Bledsoe, “Vampires Suck” star Jenn Proske and singer/actress Tatyana Ali in the PSA, which promotes sunscreen usage and skin health.

McCain jumped to her defense on Tuesday with the tweet, “Pundits in DC can calm themselves. I filmed a skin cancer PSA in a strapless juicy tube dress. All you can see is my collar bone.”

Hours later, the desert native went on to tweet, “Both my parents have had skin cancer, everyone should be aware of the extreme dangers the sun presents and how simply using sunscreen is.”

“a simple way to prevent skin cancer from occurring,” McCain tweeted again. “I take it very seriously which is why I participated in the PSA.”

Mother Cindy McCain tweeted support for her daughter on Wednesday, “Congrats to @McCainBlogette for doing a skin cancer PSA. We need more of them.”
