Ann Coulter rips Anthony Weiner for inability to answer basic #Weinergate questions

Conservative commentator Ann Coulter ripped New York Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner for his inability to answer basic questions throughout the ongoing #Weinergate scandal. The Daily Caller asked Coulter if she thought it was likely Weiner sent lewd photographs or provocative messages to women other than porn star and stripper Ginger Lee and 21-year-old Seattle-area college student Gennette Cordova. Weiner and his spokesman, Dave Arnold, haven’t answered those questions.

Coulter used Weiner’s own words against him, pointing out he’s the one who’s really the distraction, not the journalists asking him about Weinergate.

Coulter said:

“To quote Rep. Weiner when he was asked this exact question by CNN: ‘If I was giving a speech to 45,000 people, and someone in the back of the room threw a pie or yelled out an insult, would I spend the next two hours responding to that? No, I would get back, I would get back — Do you want to do the briefing? Do you want me to finish my answer?  If I were giving a speech to 45,000 people and someone in the back threw a pie or yelled an insult, I would not spend the next two hours of my speech responding to that pie or that insult. I would return the things that I want to talk about to the audience that I want to talk to, and that is what I intend to do this week.… to the things that I want to talk about, that I wanted to talk about.  Look – this is the tactic. The guy in the back of the room who is throwing the pie or yelling out the insult wants this to be the conversation. The objective of the person who is doing the mischief is to try to distract me from what I’m doing. …’

“As you can see, poor Weiner couldn’t get a word in edgewise. How could he have answered ANY question?”

Lee, the porn star and stripper, indicated she had received a “direct message,” or DM in Twitter-speak, in a March 13 tweet. She has not been forthcoming with her answers on the Weinergate scandal and refuses to address specifics of it. Also, Weiner left the door open yet again for possible inappropriate communications with her in his interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday. He said he “thinks” the DM was a “pro forma” message. He wouldn’t give a definitive answer.

Cordova denied ever meeting Weiner, but neither she nor the Congressman would answer whether they’ve communicated via private messaging before this controversy began. Cordova is the college student who was on the receiving end of the now-famous lewd photograph of a man’s erect penis underneath gray boxer-briefs. To top it off, Weiner has repeatedly said he can’t say with “certitude” if the penis in the picture is his or not, and has hired a specialized law firm to help him figure that and other details out.

The Daily Caller issued an open call on Wednesday afternoon for any other women Weiner has “propositioned” or has sent photos of his genitalia to tell their stories. That came after TheDC reported Traditional Values Coalition’s Andrea Lafferty said, “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire,” expecting more women to come out with their stories. “How many other women are going to come forward?,” Lafferty asked. “Is he the new Tiger Woods?”
