A preschool in Sweden has decided to stop calling children ‘him’ or ‘her’ in a bid to avoid gender stereotypes.
The Egalia preschool, in the Sodermalm district of Stockholm, has made the decision as part of the country efforts to engineer equality between the sexes from childhood.
As well as the decision to stop using the words, the taxpayer-funded school also carefully plans the color and placement of toys and the choice of books to assure they do not fall into stereotypes.
