Look upon your Fox programming, ye Gleeks, and despair: starting August 15, new episodes of Fox shows will only be available online eight days after their initial broadcast.

However, DISH Network subscribers will get first dibs. Anyone who has a DISH network account will be able to view episodes on both Hulu and Fox.com by logging in with a company-provided username and password.

Customers with Hulu Plus accounts will also be able to watch new programming the day after it airs on television. According to a press release, DISH Network is the first cable subscriber to sign up for this deal with Fox, and more cable companies are expected to join the program.

Fox is the latest to erect a paywall to access streaming online content, following Netflix’s move earlier this month to separate DVD and streaming video subscriptions.
