Kirsten Dunst has returned to her roots. As the daughter of a German father, Dunst has acquired German citizenship while maintaining her American one.

“I’m now a real international lady, one who can film in Europe without a problem,” Dunst told German publication BZ.

The star of the “Spiderman” trilogy is excited about taking her career global. She speaks a little German, and is looking forward to immersing herself in the German culture. “It would be the greatest joy for me to act in a German film.”

Dunst is no stranger to the country. She frequently visits family in Hamburg, but is more interested in living in a larger city. “I would prefer to buy an apartment in Berlin,” she told BZ. “It’s such a young city, and right now so much is happening in Berlin.”

Dunst, who starred in teen movies like “Bring It On” in the early 2000s, has received much critical acclaim for her recent role in “Melancholia,” winning the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actress. Check her out at recent awards shows and film festivals in the Daily Caller slideshow.
