A couple hundred Occupy Portland protesters are rallying this morning at the entrances to terminals 5 and 6 of the Port of Portland in what appears to be a largely peaceful demonstration.

Portland police have made a few arrests so far, including a driver who had a suspended license and was traveling with a loaded gun and a sword. A passenger in the car was arrested on an accusation of a parole or probation violation. Both people told officers they were headed to the Occupy Portland demonstration.
Also, officers arrested the driver of a stolen pickup who told police he was headed to the protest.
Protesters in Portland join groups of protesters in a “day of action” aiming to shut down ports along the West Coast, including Longview; Los Angeles; San Diego; Tacoma, Wash.; Seattle; Anchorage, Alaska; and Oakland, Calif.
