The Backstreet Boys are set to record a new album in 2012, much to the delight of screaming girls who grew up in the ’90s.

The group who helped spawn the age of the boy band established its claim to fame with hit songs like “Quit Playin’ Games (With My Heart)” and “I Want It That Way.”

Howie Dorough, who recently released a solo album, “Back To Me,” confirmed to CBSNews that a new album was in the works for 2012.

“We want to make every album better than the last one,” he said. This will be BSB’s eighth studio record.

Last year, BSB joined forces with fellow boy band New Kids On The Block to form a supergroup — NKOTBSB — and recorded two singles, “Don’t Turn Out The Lights” and “All In My Head.”
