COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney got a few laughs Sunday night by comparing President Obama to reality TV star Kim Kardashian.

During a rally, the former Massachusetts governor cracked the joke after saying he’s been “looking at some video clips on YouTube of President Obama, then candidate Obama, going through Iowa making promises.”

“And I think the gap between his promises and his performance is the largest I’ve seen,” Romney said, “well, since the Kardashian wedding and their promise of ‘till death do we part.’”

Kardashian and her newly wed husband, NBA player Kris Humphries, called it quits after just 72 days of marriage.

Turning serious, Romney explained to the packed house that Obama hasn’t followed through on campaign promises on Iran, deficits and the economy.

Romney and most of the other 2012 Republican candidates are campaigning in Iowa ahead of the caucuses on Tuesday, the first voting of the nomination contest.
