Since their 1984 breakout album, “License to Ill,” the Beastie Boys have been an iconic presence in the music industry. But on May 4 Adam Yausch, a.k.a. “MCA,” one of the group’s founding members, lost his three-year battle with cancer.

The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame in early 2012, cementing the trio’s status as legends.
