San Diego, Calif. — The new Glock Gen4 headlines the September issue of GUNS Magazine as it continues to make groundbreaking gains in handgun safety, durability, comfort, and accuracy. This fourth-generation Glock comes equipped with accessory frame rails, suitable for adding a light or a laser, and two additional backstraps to adjust for hand size. In “Big-Bore Gen4,” contributing editor Dave Anderson cannot help but admire the reliability of the Glock G21 .45 ACP.

“I ran a bit more than 300 rounds through the Glock 21, with ammunition ranging from standard loads to rip-snortin’ +P with no malfunctions,” reveals Anderson. “Accuracy of the G21 was exceptionally good, in fact this was one of the most accurate Glocks I’ve ever fired.”

Also in this issue of GUNS, field editor John Barsness gives readers some basic tips to “accurize” their personal rifles. Readers wanting to improve the accuracy and performance of their rifles will appreciate the remedies Barsness suggests — all of which can be done from the comfort of their own home.

Barsness provides numerous helpful suggestions ranging from using a proven scope and accurate ammunition to eliminating random fliers by epoxy-bedding the top of the barrel channel. Other useful tips, with corresponding images, can be found in the article “Accurizing Factory Rifles.”

The September issue of GUNS Magazine also features a review of the Ruger SR22 .22 Long Rifle Pistol, discusses whether or not spare ammo is necessary, and how to spend effort, not money, when it comes to cast bullet shooting.

For September’s Gun of the Month giveaway, readers have the opportunity to win a pair of Rossi leverguns. Cowboy gun enthusiasts will love the .44-40 Rossi Model R92, a lever-action rifle perfect for wilderness packing or cowboy action shooting. Also included is the Model 92 Ranch Hand, a 12” lever-action repeating handgun. A Big Bowie Fixed Blade Knife, Predator Gold Series earmuffs from Pro Ears, a Frontier Gunleather saddle scabbard and ranch hand rig round off this month’s giveaway, which is valued at over $2,300.
