On Sean Hannity’s radio show on Wednesday, former Vice President Dick Cheney gave high marks to Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio for his response to the State of the Union address, despite his much-ballyhooed water “incident.” (RELATED: CNN, media hyperventilate after Rubio takes swig of water)

“Marco is great,” Cheney said. “I’m a big fan of his, and for what it’s worth, about four nights ago I gave a speech in Cheyenne, Wyo., and I had two of those water incidents in the midst of my speech.  He handled it well, too. I mean, he tweeted out a picture of whatever it was — a water bottle. He’s got a good sense of humor about him.”

“He’s a first-rate asset,” Cheney continued. We’re going to hear a lot from him down the road. And one bright note I think in the last election is we do have a good crop of folks coming along who have got enormous talent and are dedicated to the principles I think most Americans believe in.”
