In veteran guard’s Derek Fisher’s return to Dallas after signing with Oklahoma City last month, he caught flak from not only betrayed Mavericks fans, but also their bitter owner.

Earlier this season, Fisher had asked Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and team management to grant him his release from his contract with the team, reportedly on the grounds that he missed his family.

Cuban and the Mavericks complied, allowing Fisher out of his contract with the team, only to be spurned two months later when he signed with Oklahoma City and hopped onto the Thunder championship bandwagon without informing his former team of his return to the NBA.

Cuban felt Fisher’s return to the NBA was an act of disloyalty, as he did not notify Dallas that he was signing on with the Thunder.

“I’ll just boo him like hopefully everybody else,” Cuban said prior to the game.

Cuban got his petty revenge, joining Mavs fans in a chorus of boos as Fisher entered the game.
