During Tuesday night’s episode of that singing competition show — not “American Idol,” but the other one — a microphone caught judge and Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine saying “I hate this country” when two of his picks were voted off the show.

Now, whether or not he actually meant that he hates America or if it was just an off-the-cuff remark taken too seriously doesn’t really matter. What matters is that America, too, hates Adam Levine.
Since Maroon 5 starting assaulting our ears through radio waves in 2002, we have had to hear Levine’s wannabe Justin Timberlake falsetto and his crummy lyrics (“I’m at a payphone trying to call home/ All of my change, I spent on you/ Where have the times gone?” are the actual lyrics of a recent Maroon 5 song) on repeat.
