The sixth-round pick for the Indianapolis Colts was arrested Monday morning for public intoxication and resisting law enforcement outside a bar at 3 a.m.
John Boyett, a 23-year-old safety, tried to use his status as a player to get out of the situation.
According the the arrest record obtained by the Indy Star, “He kept repeating ‘You can’t arrest me … I’m a Colts player.'”
He also mocked one officer’s nose and hair and threatened to break his jaw at a later date.
Boyett has been placed on the reserve/non-football injury list after he managed to injure his arm during the altercation with the cops. He played previously at Oregon and was drafted by the Colts in 2013.
