According to researchers that have tested it, the pre-workout supplement Craze contains a chemical similar to methamphetamine.

The chemical compound, N,a-diethyl-phenylethylamine (N,a-DEPEA) is not listed on the ingredient label.

Internist Dr. Pieter Cohen, who was involved in the report, told ABC News, “I think they’re playing with stimulants to try and find something that will get people juiced up, revved up to work out and make them feel better.”

Representatives from Craze have said the findings are incorrect and that their own testing has found no such compound. Ratings on bodybuilding.com make it seem very meth-y.

One reviewer wrote, “The effects were amazing i felt like beating the living sh** out of everyone.” Another wrote, “It just makes you never want to stop your workouts. Always just want to keep going. Also great focus during workouts.”

It was rated BodyBuilding.com’s New Supplement of the Year award in 2012.
