For too long, puppies have cornered the market on adorable interpretations of sports. Luckily, this year the Hallmark Channel will be putting on the first-ever Kitten Bowl. It will happen from noon until 9 p.m. on Super Bowl Sunday.

Howard Stern’s wife, Beth, will be emceeing the action-packed event, MSN reports. All the kittens involved in the competition will be placed in permanent homes, thanks to a partnership with North Shore Animal League America. It’s sort of like a reverse “Hunger Games” for cats.

There will be a playoff and then the main event over the nine hours. There will be obstacles courses involving hoops, lasers and toys on strings. The broadcast will also have player profiles and locker-room strategies.

Knowing cat behavior, the players will most likely be unconscious for 90 percent of the activities. Still, it is being billed as “the greatest feline showdown in cable television history.”
