New York Knicks player Amare Stoudemire has always been vocal about his Jewish faith. He says he is Hebrew through his mother, and has even traveled to Israel multiple times to get a better understanding of his heritage.

This Halloween, he took to Instagram to express his displeasure with the holiday. He instagrammed a photo of a “no” symbol over a clipart Jack-o-Latern, with the caption, “As the Children of Israel (Jacob) we must separate ourselves from anything pagan #BlessedBeTheCreator #yhwh #GodBody.”

I understand, Amare: Gourds and candy can be pretty frightening. It only takes one more child dressed as Ironman to take down an established religion. Also, tattoos — those aren’t kosher.
