During local news coverage of the passing of former South African leader Nelson Mandela, WDIV-TV Local 4 News used a picture of embattled New York Yankee third baseman Alex Rodriguez to portray Mandela.
The error lasted fewer than 10 seconds before it was corrected. But it wasn’t the station’s finest hour.
