Jimmy Kimmel had Toronto mayor Rob Ford on his late night talk show Monday and the results weren’t pretty.

Kimmel spent the interview lambasting the beleaguered Ford until it was mercifully over.

“Don’t get me wrong,” Kimmel began, “I’m glad that you are here, but why are you here? What good could come of this? Have you ever seen this show?”

Kimmel compared him unfavorably to Los Angeles’ mayor Eric Garcetti, showing pictures of the two mayors doing similar things, but with different results.

He then pointed out how sweaty Ford was and condescendingly wiped him with a napkin. Kimmel also told Ford how hated he was among Toronto residents.

He also played embarrassing video clips that have surfaced of Ford, including where he threatened to kill someone.

Kimmel also decided to change tack and played the concerned friend. He brought up Ford’s crack-smoking video and admonished, “If you are an alcoholic, drinking enough that he would try crack in his 40s and you don’t remember it, maybe that’s something that you might want to think about, like talking to somebody.”

Ford laughed off the repeated attacks on his personal life and stuck to his performance as mayor.

He told Kimmel, “I wasn’t elected to be perfect, Jimmy. I was elected to clean up a mess.”
