“Fox News Sunday” earned a D.C. ratings win last Sunday, beating out the other network’s flagship Sunday news programs in total Washington viewership for the first time in seven years.
“Fox News Sunday” garnered 70,000 Washington, D.C. viewers on May 4 — just eking by NBC’s “Meet the Press” 69,000 and blowing past CBS’ “Face the Nation” and ABC’s “This Week.” New Hampshire Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte and California Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff were part of the viewership draw.

Viewership in the nation’s capital is highly coveted for weekly Sunday morning shows, since discussion typically revolves around D.C.-centered politics, policies and personalities. But with perennial top dog “Meet the Press” slipping in the ratings since David Gregory became host, Fox and other networks have gained ground.
Last month Fox beat out all other Sunday shows among the highly valued 25-to-54 demographic in D.C. But the last and only other time Fox News earned the most attention from all Washington movers and shakers was November 2007, when Wallace interviewed former President George H. W. Bush.
