Well, humanity has hit a new low. A Houston mother was killed in a car accident on Thursday, but instead of calling the cops, thieves and looky-loos rushed to steal the groceries in the front seat.

According to ABC13, the mother lost control of the car and crashed into a tree after pulling out of a grocery store parking lot. She was not wearing a seat belt and reportedly died at the scene. Her two sons, aged four and six, were also in the car, but are expected to survive.

But what happened after the collision is what makes this story so outrageous. Witnesses told ABC13 that before medics and police arrived at the scene, people or a person stalked the car and stole the groceries sitting in the front seat next to the deceased mother — all while the two little boys sat injured in the backseat.

“That is very low,” one eyewitness said.
