A Texas town has a serial flag burner, or burners, on its hands.
Police are hunting for the vandal(s) responsible for the desecration of a number of flags in Weatherford, some of which are from the homes of veterans or families of people currently serving in the military, the Dallas/Fortworth CBS affiliate reports. So far seven flags have been torched since Friday.
“We had one woman whose two sons are serving in Afghanistan,” Fire Marshal Bob Hopkins told CBS-DFW. “Of course she was very upset because that flag for a lot of people resembles their pride in their nation, their home, everything they believe in.”
