While speaking at a swanky event Friday night in New York City, Hillary Clinton speculated about the immigration status of the people serving food and beverages at the gala.

Clinton made the remarks at the New York Historical Society, according to MSNBC reporter Alex Seitz-Wald. She endorsed President Obama’s recent move to grant amnesty to 5 million illegal immigrants.
“I think the president took an historic step and I support it,” Clinton said, according to the Associated Press.
