Talk radio host Mark Levin came out swinging in his first show of 2015, calling on embattled House Majority Whip Steve Scalise to resign from his position for his association with David Duke ally Kenny Knight.

“The number three Republican in the House, Steve Scalise, should resign from the House leadership,” he said simply. “He should resign from House leadership.” (VIDEO: Democratic Congressman: Steve Scalise Shouldn’t Have To Step Down)

Levin blasted conservative bloggers and media for “regurgitating” Republican talking points defending Scalise. “Remember David Duke?” he asked. “Do you remember how Republicans fought like hell to defeat him and disassociate him from the Republican Party? He’s a POS! He’s a Holocaust denier, he’s an anti-Semite! He’s a racist, the real deal!”

“Someone has to speak out on this!” he yelled. “With Republicans circling the wagons, pseudo-conservatives are circling the wagon… around this guy? What the hell for? What the hell for?” (RELATED: Steve Scalise Regrets Speech To David Duke Group: ‘It Was A Mistake I Regret’)

“Is Steve Scalise an idiot?” Levin went on. “Are we supposed to just dismiss this because he’s a Republican in leadership…? Does Steve Scalise know who David Duke is? Yes he does, very, very well. So why have any association with this lowlife Kenny Knight, let alone a mildly friendly acquaintance of some kind?”

Levin clarified that he doesn’t believe Scalise is a racist: “He’s an opportunist. He’s a ladder-climber.”
