Kerry spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos early Friday, and it was every bit as honest, forthright, and realistic as you’d expect.
Then James Taylor threw down his guitar and yelled, “I give up!”
Well, Kerry checked off all the boxes:
- Islamic terrorists aren’t real Muslims
- Not all Muslims are terrorists
- Not all terrorists are Muslims
- Islam means “peace”
- Don’t say anything to offend a Muslim or you may be killed
That last one is what he means by “Unless we direct our energies in the right direction, we may very well fuel the fires that we want to put out.” That’s this administration’s stance on free speech: You can say whatever you want, as long as you don’t make a Muslim angry. (Or a member of any other group of designated victims, for that matter.) If you do, and something bad happens to you, oh well.
