Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid’s brother, Larry Reid, is in trouble with the law after an incident in the senator’s home state.
According to KNTV, Reid’s brother was arrested and charged with drunk driving, battery of a police officer and possession of a gun while under the influence of alcohol Monday night.
Reid, 73, was arrested near Boulder City, Nev.
“It is a private matter,” the senator’s office told KNTV on the arrest.
The arrest continues a poor start to 2015 for the former longtime legislator, who was demoted from majority leader to minority leader at the start of the new Congress in January after the Democrats lost the Senate in the midterm elections.
Harry Reid, 75, also sustained broken ribs and broken bones in his face on New Years Day in an exercise accident.
