Indiana Democrat: Sorry About Sexting With Sydney Leathers

Font Size:

As much as I miss Anthony Weiner and look forward to his inevitable return to public life, I had no problem with Sydney Leathers finally going away. But the gal’s gotta make a living somehow, right?

Her foray into porn and subsequent HIV scare were depressing enough, but now this bundle of personality disorders wrapped in a spray-tan has hit a new low. Tom LoBianco, Indianapolis Star:

Indiana Rep. Justin Moed is apologizing for sexting with Sydney Leathers, the Evansville woman at the center of the 2013 Anthony Weiner sexting scandal.

“I am truly sorry I have hurt the ones I love most with my poor judgment. I am committed to rebuilding trust with my family and my community. This is a private matter and I ask for it to be treated as such. I apologize to my constituents and to everyone I have let down,” Moed said in a written statement sent to The Indianapolis Star…

TheDirty.com reported Tuesday that Moed responded to an ad Leathers posted seeking a submissive she could “financially dominate.” Texts Leathers provided to the site show a photo allegedly of Moed’s naked backside.

The site reports that Moed’s name was accidentally included on a pink leash and collar he bought for Leathers on Amazon.com, which is how she reportedly determined his identity.

If you can’t trust your dominatrix, who can you trust?

Look, I’m not going to judge the guy for his totally hilarious and shameful desires. But maybe it wasn’t the best idea to pick a woman whose one and only claim to fame is, um, outing a politician who sexted her. Did he somehow imagine she wouldn’t run and tell anybody who’d listen? Was she the best he could do? Is there suddenly a shortage of hookers on the Internet?

But then, humiliation is his thing. He sure is getting his money’s worth.

Update: I forgot to note that, as is traditional when a Democrat gets in trouble, Moed’s party affiliation isn’t mentioned until paragraph 10 of the Indy Star’s story.
