Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley told an audience at the Brookings Institute Wednesday that he “didn’t watch” Hillary Clinton’s Tuesday press conference, where she tried to explain her use of a private email address as secretary of state.

O’Malley is one of the few Democrats who is actively mapping out a 2016 run, alongside former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb.

“I didn’t watch the press conference yesterday. So I don’t know. I’ll leave that to you to figure out,” O’Malley told an inquiring reporter. “I didn’t really — I didn’t watch it.”

“Why not?” a reporter followed up.

“Because I was working,” O’Malley said flatly.

Earlier in the Q&A, O’Malley remarked that “frankly, I’m sick of the email drama.”
