Giuliana Rancic got death threats after the comment she made while hosting “Fashion Police” when she said one actress who wore her hair in dreads probably smelled like “patchouli oil and weed.”
It was the day after the Oscars, and Rancic said that Zendaya, a former Disney star, looked like she smelled like marijuana, but she’s saying it was taken out of context.
“I started very quickly getting death threats,” Rancic said.
“People were sending me pictures of the barrel of a gun saying, ‘I’m going to kill your family.'”
“It was awful.”
The E! News host later apologized for her comments.

“I made [the joke] as a reference to the hippie culture. It was a bohemian-chic reference, not about race, nor would it ever be. It was horrifying to have my name in a headline with words I have never been associated with in my life.”
