Times That Try Men’s Souls

It becomes clearer and clearer that the President of the United States and the Democrat Party are deserting the tiny democratic state of Israel in its fight to secure, for Israeli citizens, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Even worse, Muslim leaders pledge to destroy Israel and every living Jew on the face of the earth. This is not an idle threat, if so it wouldn’t have been repeated during the recent on-going Iran-American nuclear negotiations.

For the most part America’s Christian Community is standing by Israel. But this fight should be led by America’s Jews, just as the Civil Rights fight was led by Martin Luther King Jr. and the NAACP. So why are Jewish congressional leaders remaining so mute when they could be out front agitating and stirring up support for Israel.

Where is the American Jewish Martin Luther King Jr., nowhere to be seen or heard? Meanwhile Congressional and Jewish leadership’s treatment of Israel and its citizens is more like how Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson treat black Americans, lots of talk and a dearth of action.

In the last two presidential elections America’s Jewish voters have gone to the polls and faithfully supported the Democrat Party. Now, when a great opportunity has arisen for the Democrat Party to return the favor, it is mostly silent.

Jewish political leaders like Senators Dianne Feinstein and Charles Schumer should be jumping up and down on the Senate floor screaming that unless immediate action is taken to come to Israel’s aid, Jewish members of Congress will lead such a violent vendetta against both political parties that it will singe their hair and turn them out of office.

Instead, “gentle restraint” seems to be the Democrat’s guiding light for today on Capitol Hill. In the meantime, America’s President is warning Israel and its Prime Minister that they should restrain themselves. He forgets that it is never wise to restrain good policy.

Radical Muslims intend to take up where Hitler left off. When Radical Muslims say, as they recently have, that their goal is total annihilation of every Jew on the face of the earth they are4 not just talking about killing Israeli Jews. Included in their accounting are millions of US Citizens.

Why isn’t our government screaming in protest? Do we no longer care about the lives and safety of our citizens? Or are we only disturbed when those being hunted down and killed are non-Jewish?

Patrick Henry was right when he said, “These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will in this crisis shrink from the service of their country, but he that stands by it now, deserves the thanks of man and woman. Tyranny like hell, is not easily conquered, yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.”

Some think the current situation is just a continuation of the historic Jewish-Arab-Muslim conflict that has been going on for centuries — Not so — If ISIS, with Iran’s and Hamas’ help, is successful in defeating Israel, they will quickly fasten their evil focus on western non-Islamic civilizations. More than just the survival of Israel is at stake, the survival of western civilization is equally at hazard.
