Harriette Thompson is not your run-of-the-mill senior citizen.
Not only has Thompson beaten cancer a mind-numbing three times, but on Sunday, the 92-year-old Charlotte-native successfully completed the Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon in San Diego, making her the oldest woman to finish a marathon in history.
Harriette’s final time of 7 hours, 24 minutes and 36 seconds was 14 minutes slower than her 2014 time — in case you were wondering she’s ran in the Rock ‘n’ Roll a whopping 16 times — but still an hour and a half faster than the previous record holder’s time.
