An accessible orgy for the disabled is set to take place at a theater in Toronto this summer. Organizers have described it as the end of the Berlin Wall of sex for the disabled.

The event, called Deliciously Disabled, is open to all participants, not just the disabled, the Toronto Sun reports. Caretakers of the disabled can enter free at the Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. Entrance otherwise costs $20 dollars to an event which can hold a maximum of 125 people and up to 25 wheelchairs. Deliciously Disabled will take place Aug. 14, which is also when Toronto will host the Parapan Am Games. The ticket price covers hydraulic lifts for wheelchairs, as well as interpreters for the deaf.

According to 35-year-old Stella Palikarova, an organizer for the event and disability awareness consultant, there’s a common assumption that a very low to non-existent libido automatically accompanies disability. That’s an assumption she wants to break. In her case, spinal muscular atrophy definitely hasn’t put a damper on her sex drive, but sex clubs aren’t very accommodating.

“The naysayers are just subconsciously hating the fact that people in wheelchairs are having great sex — better sex than a lot of people are having,” Palikarova told the Toronto Sun. “I won’t apologize for that.”

She expected controversy. Controversy often paves the way for progress, Palikarova argued.

One of the other organizers, Andrew Morrison-Gurza, was far more overt in his comments about the event. “A wheelchair can become just a big sex toy,” Morrison-Gurza said, who identifies on his Twitter profile as a “Queer Cripple.”
