Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play one of the world’s most accomplished murderers.

The 40-year-old actor will play H.H. Holmes in a new film directed by Martin Scorsese and based on the book “The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair That Changed America,” Deadline reports.

Though he only admitted to killing 27 women during the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago, Holmes is believed to have murdered over 200. He targeted young women, and would lure his victims to his “murder castle,” a hotel that had a gas chamber, crematorium and a dissecting table. He would torture them, kill them and strip their skeletons and sell the parts.

The project has reportedly been in development for over 10 years, and this makes DiCaprio’s and Scorsese’s sixth time working together after “The Wolf of Wall Street,” “Gangs of New York,” “The Aviator,” “The Departed” and “Shutter Island.”
