Iran’s National Women’s Soccer Team Has A Lot Of Balls

In every possible sense.

Al Arabiya News:

Iran’s national women’s team has come under fire this week after it emerged that eight players of the group were not females, according to Al Arabiya News Channel’s Arabic language website.

“[Eight players] have been playing with Iran’s female team without completing sex change operations,” Mojtabi Sharifi, an official close to the Iranian league, said during an interview with the Iranian website Young Journalists Club…

He added that Iran’s football governing body was entirely responsible for the scandal which he described as “unethical.”

You might blame Iran for this, but all the other countries’ teams are at least partly at fault for not noticing. Although it’s not like nobody’s ever seen a female athlete with a five o’clock shadow…

Actually, I blame the sport of soccer itself. Say what you want about American football, but at least we know the difference between boys and girls.

Well, we did before “Caitlyn” Jenner, anyway. Who will be the first transgendered NFL player? And how problematic will it be the first time someone tackles xim?
