Ben Carson suggested if Donald Trump got the nomination there may be “compatibility issues” between the two individuals.

Appearing on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” Friday, Carson was asked if he would serve as the vice president to Trump and he replied, “I don’t know. I can’t answer that question because that would involve a lot of negotiation, you know compatibility issues, and I would have to make a decision whether that was really the best use of my time and my influence.

Carson pondered, “Would it be better to be able to be completely independent? So all of those things would have to be answered and they can’t be answered now.”

Mitchell then turned the question to if Carson was nominated to be president, would he have Trump serve as his vice president, Carson explained, “I would consider everybody but again, it becomes a compatibility issue. Those things obviously would have to be discussed in some detail and those negotiations have not occurred yet. So you can’t answer that question.”
