University of Florida defensive back Deiondre Porter was arrested and booked in Alachua County Jail (FL) Wednesday for a September incident in which he opened fire on his pregnant girlfriend.

Per SEC Country:

The charges are connected to an incident on Sept. 29 that involved Porter confronting his pregnant girlfriend about being “involved with one of his teammates” at about 2:15 a.m., according to a Gainesville Police report. Porter proceeded to hold a handgun to his girlfriend’s head, demanding she tell the truth regarding his claim.

After the victim’s numerous attempts to contact the teammate to disprove Porter’s claim went unanswered, Porter and the victim went to sleep in the her apartment with the victim sleeping in the living room and Porter sleeping in her bedroom.

Later at 7:15 a.m. that same day, Porter began yelling at his girlfriend “about her being involved with his teammates” and fired a handgun in her direction with the bullet striking the wall where she was leaning. Porter and the victim have been dating since 2013 and the victim is 10 weeks pregnant with Porter aware that she was pregnant prior to this incident, according to the police report.

According to Alachua County Court records, Porter is facing five charges: aggravated battery (one count), aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent (two counts), one charge of firing a weapon or missile into a dwelling (one count)* and misdemeanor property damage (one count).

Porter had appeared in four games for the Gators this season, but head coach Jim McElwain “suspended [Porter] indefinitely” at a Wednesday afternoon press conference. (RELATED: Florida QB To Spend Year Long PED Suspension Being Consoled By Ridiculously Hot Girlfriend [PHOTOS])
