A pro-socialist think tank is looking to hire a new director and is willing to offer a salary that would put that person in the world’s top one percent of income earners to do it.

The U.K.-based CLASS is offering its new director a salary of $77,211, which would put him or her in the top one percent of income earners on the planet.

The Centre for Labour and Social Studies (CLASS) describes itself as originating in the labor movement and exists to “promote debate and discussion on alternative policies for the left” and “cement a broad alliance of social forces and influence policy development.”

To achieve this goal, CLASS publishes briefings and policy papers on issues from inequality to welfare. While CLASS may wear its progressive principles on its sleeve, it’s clear the organization isn’t entirely oblivious to that old adage of classical capitalist economics — incentives matter.

Aside from the global comparisons, CLASS’s director would comfortably make the top 20 percent of  earners in the U.K. and would boast a salary more than twice that of Britain’s median income, which is $32,400, and more than $25,000 higher than the U.S. median income

In the job advertisement, CLASS say they are looking for someone who “can provide leadership, has a keen interest in progressive policy, and an ability to confidently communicate the policy concerns of working people with the press.”

For the financial year, 2014/15 CLASS’s total income was just $255,000. The majority of donations to the organization came to over $1,500 were from trade unions such as the National Union of Teachers and Unite the Union. CLASS’s National Advisory Panel includes the cream of the Britain’s socialist intellectuals and advocates.

Seumas Milne, a Guardian journalist who has defended terrorism and has been the British Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn’s head of communications and member of Parliament Diane Abbot who once tweeted that “white people like playing divide and rule” are just two the 51 people giving CLASS “invaluable expertise in their specialist fields.”
