TNT NBA sideline reporter Craig Sager returned Thursday night for the first time since beating cancer, to interview San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich. It was every bit as exciting as people hoped.
Popovich and Sager share a legendary friendship despite the fact Popovich is famous for giving interviews while acting extremely irritated.
Popovich began the interview with Sager saying, “I can honestly tell you this is the first time I’ve enjoyed doing this ridiculous interview we’re required to do, and it’s because you’re here. You’re back with us. Welcome back.”
Sager and Popovich briefly embraced each other with a hug before Popovich returned to usual form and stated, “Now ask me a couple of inane questions.”

Sager was cleared October 7 of leukemia, and has been working his usual role as a TNT sideline reporter since the start of the season.
