While speaking to reporters in his end-of-year press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump as “a very flamboyant man” and “very talented.”
Putin said the he would work with “whomever the American voters choose” to improve relations between the two countries, Reuters reports.
“He is a very flamboyant man, very talented, no doubt about that. … He is an absolute leader of the presidential race, as we see it today,” Putin said.
“He says that he wants to move to another level of relations, to a deeper level of relations with Russia. How can we not welcome that? Of course we welcome it.”
